botox-and-filler-hurt

As we age, we develop wrinkles and uneven skintones, our skin loses its strength and luster and our pores enlarge.  All of these factors affect our appearance, but did you know, that we also lose fat volume in our faces?

Our cheeks, which were full and round when we were young, can sink and develop a triangular shaped flat spot that can appear shaded and grooved.  Many of us lose volume in the orbits of our eyes. This  results in eye circles that may or may not be dark in appearance.  We also lose volume in our lips and other areas of the face. This lost volume allows the face to fall. It contributes to the appearance of lip lines and the deep brackets that appear at the sides of the mouth.

Even when we are young, lost volume can make us look tired we got a solution to fix this!

Calgary Dermal Fillers

Lost volume can be replaced with dermal fillers

This popular procedure can restore the contours and shape your face had when you were younger.  Fillers can also be used to create volume where it has never existed. A skilled injector is able to place the correct consistency and amount of filler to precisely replace or create volume to the areas of the face where it is needed to produce the result you want.

Results are instant, dramatic and natural in appearance!

There are many different types of dermal fillers and many manufacturers.  Skinpossible uses fillers that are made from Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally-occurring substance in our skin.  We also use advanced treatment techniques to assure your treatment is comfortable.  In some areas of the face, where a high degree of precision is needed, we transfer the filler into smaller needles before we inject it.  In areas such as the lips we will first apply numbing cream to desensitize the skin.  In other areas we will choose to avoid the use of needles and use a micro-cannula to place the filler.

The use of a blunt-tipped micro-cannula is a completely revolutionary technique for filler treatments. The micro-cannula is being called the ‘Ouchless Needle.’  It is small and the tip is rounded.  The value of the blunt tip is that it is virtually painless and the risk of bruising and damage to the skin is minimal.

Filler comes in many different consistencies, ranging from Voluma™ which is very thick to Redensity II™ which is very fluid.  Generally the thicker the product is the longer it will last. However, the longevity of filler can also be affected by the degree of movement in the area of the face it is placed in.  Filler placed in areas of the face with more activity, such as the lips, will generally not last as long as filler placed in areas of the face with a lower degree of movement, such as the orbits of the eyes.  This is generally so, despite the thicker product used in the lip area.  Since Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally-occurring substance within the skin, the body will metabolize the filler over time and a touch-up will be required to maintain the result.  Some people metabolize fillers faster than others.  The chart below is a general guideline of how long dermal filler will last.

The skill of the injector will very much dictate the outcome. For natural looking results it is important to use a filler with the right degree of viscosity in appropriate areas of the face.  It is equally important to not overdo it.  Skinpossible’s advanced RN injector is highly skilled with over eleven years of experience.  She is a true artist, and will create beautiful and natural results.
