intimalase laser vag treatment calgary

Vaginal Tightening is possible with this new laser treatment called IntimaLase!

What is IntimaLase?

Introducing IntimaLase ™, a minimally invasive solution for vaginal relaxation and atrophy.

  • A simple, non-surgical, 15 Minute procedure
  • Effective, pain-free, safe
  • Walk-in / Walk-out

Pleasure during sexual relations is enhanced with increased pressure and friction and lack of sufficient friction can decrease satisfaction for both a woman and her partner. Unfortunately, overstretching of the vaginal wall during childbirth and natural aging can weaken connective tissue relaxing muscles in the vagina. Kegel exercises can help strengthen the underlying muscle, but until now there was no reliable solution to counter thinning of the wall of the vagina. Now it's possible to tighten the vagina with IntimaLase, a non-invasive laser treatment now available at Skinpossible Laser & Light in Calgary.

How does IntimaLase work?

IntimaLase is a simple, non-surgical laser treatment that is highly effective. During the procedure, a special attachment, similar to a speculum used during a Pap test, is inserted into the vagina. Through this, the vaginal region is treated with short laser pulses through a small handpiece. The thermal effect on the vaginal mucosa stimulates collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen fibers. The result is a tighter vagina.

Scientific results show great improvements in vaginal tightness and sexual gratification!

  • High Level of patient satisfaction
  • 95% of patients assess vaginal tightness as strongly or moderately improved.

IntimaLase FAQ

  • How long does it take to do the IntimaLase Procedure? +

It is a quick walk-in, walk-out procedure that takes about 15-20 minutes to perform.  Expect to be at the clinic no longer than one hour in total.
  • What will it feel like during the IntimaLase Procedure? +

Some patients may experience mild pain or a burning, itching sensation during the treatment at the entrance to the vagina.   The treatment is usually well tolerated.
  • What should I expect after IntimaLase? +

After the treatment you can leave and carry on with your daily routine with some restrictions.  There may be some mild swelling and redness after the procedure and a transparent discharge for 2-3 days.  No continuing or lasting post-treatment pain has been noted.
  • Can I exercise after the IntimaLase Procedure? +

Prolonged periods of sustained exercise are not recommended for two weeks.  Avoid activities that increase pressure on the bladder and treatment area for one month such as heavy lifting.
  • Can I have sex after IntimaLase? +

After the treatment you should take care to avoid trauma to the treated area.  Sexual intercourse is not recommended for one (preferably two) weeks after the procedure.
  • Can I wear tampons after IntimaLase? +

Refrain from inserting tampons into the vagina for four weeks.
  • How soon will I feel results after IntimaLase? +

Results vary from patient to patient.  Given to the subjective nature of the feeling/sensation during sexual relations, it is not possible to measure or quantify results. The full result will take up to four months. Intimalase has a high patient satisfaction rating.
  • How many IntimaLase treatments are required? +

Only one, although some patients may require a second treatment.  This will be discussed at the time of your post treatment follow-up appointment.  If a second treatment is required it will be done without charge within a period of six months post-treatment.
  • Can I have the treatment if I am menstruating? +

No.  It is best to time the treatment during the first phase of your menstrual cycle.
  • Is the IntimaLase procedure the same as the IncontiLase Procedure? +

No.  IntimaLase targets the entire circumference of the vaginal canal but will do little or nothing to correct Stress Urinary Incontinence.  IncontiLase targets only the anterior wall of the vagina.  It will result in some tightening of the vagina but not to the same degree that IntimaLase will.
  • How will I know if I am a candidate IntimaLase? +

Not everybody is a candidate for IntimaLase.  There are some precautions and contraindications.  These will be discussed with you at the time of your consultation after completion and review of a medical screening questionnaire.
  • Are there any risks or possible complications? +

Yes. These will also be discussed at the time of your consultation.
