So what, exactly, is it?

It is a medication known as Bimatoprost. Because it is a medication it must be prescribed to you by a doctor. Thus, one of our doctors will need to review your health history prior to your purchase. It is therefore recommended you make an appointment the first time you purchase Latisse at Skinpossible.

Latisse FAQs

  • How long does a bottle of latisse last? +

Latisse comes in two different sizes: 3mL and 5mL bottles. One 5ml bottle of latisse last up to 16 weeks, and the 3ml last up to 10 weeks. Please note that after an initial growth phase, the Latisse can be applied less frequently (2-3x per week) and your lashes will likely maintain their length.
  • How often do I apply it? +

You will need to use Latisse once per day. Try to make it a part of your daily routine. Placing your Latisse next to your other daily skin care products will serve as a reminder. We suggest applying the product at night after you have washed your face and have applied your regular skin care. If you miss a day, its ok! Continue as usual with only one application per day. Applying more will just waste the product and may cause irritation. You really only need 1 drop of product per day. After you have reached your desired effect you may wish to use the product every other day. But remember, if you stop using Latisse completely your lashes will go back to how they were before treatment.
  • What is the best way to apply Latisse to make it last longer? +

To get the most out of your investment we suggest placing one drop of Latisse into the cap of a bottle and then dipping a very tiny eye liner brush into the cap. Apply to the skin at the base of your upper lashes, like you would apply eyeliner. One drop is usually enough to cover both eyes. You only need to apply to your upper lash (Not your lower lashes). Latisse comes with a supply of disposable brushes that will use more product than necessary. We suggest using a small sanitary pair scissors to cut half the bristles off for economical usage. Alternatively you can use your own thin eyeliner brush being sure to clean the brush with gentle cleanser, rinse and let dry after every use.
  • When should I see results from Latisse? +

Most people will see results in as little as 2 weeks while the full effect of the treatment will be noticed at 16 weeks.
  • How will I know if Latisse is safe for me? +

Prior to purchasing Latisse or the first time you will be required to complete a detailed health questionnaire. The information you provide here will be reviewed by our physician who will authorize or decline your purchase based on the answers you provide.
  • Under what circumstances would a doctor not approve Latisse for me? +

If you have no visible eyelashes the doctor will consider any underlying conditions to determine whether this product is appropriate for you. If you are taking, or have recently taken, any other medicines, including other bimatoprost products, or those not prescribed. Use of Latisse in conjunction with other bimatoprost products may reduce the effectiveness of these products to lower intraocular eye pressure. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding a baby, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. If you have have an active eye infection or inflammation (e.g. uveitis) any other eye conditions such as active eyelid disease, infection or broken or irritated eyelid skin or eye injury. If you need to have eye surgery. If you are allergic to bimatoprost, to any product ingredients, including benzalkonium chloride, or to any of the parts or the container.
  • Are there any side effects of Latisse? +

Like all medications, Latisse can have side effects. Most of the side effects are not serious.  The most common side effect after using Latisse solution are in itching sensation in the eyes/ or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients.
  • Can Latisse darken the colour of my eyes? +

It is true that Latisse use has been associated with iris pigmentation and this is the result of using more medication that is required.  It is extremely important to strictly observe the following measures.  Do not apply directly to the eye.  Do not add more than one drop to an applicator.  Blot any excess solution outside the upper eyelid margin with a tissue or other absorbent mate-rial.  Do not administer the medication more than once daily.  Do not reuse applicators.
  • Can Latisse cause darkening of the eyelid skin? +

Latisse use may also cause darkening of the eyelid skin which may be reversible in most patients. It is possible for hair growth to occur in other areas of your skin that Latisse frequently touches. Any excess solution outside the upper eyelid margin should be blotted with a tissue or other absorbent material to reduce the chance this from happening. Latisse solution is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. Refer to illustration 2 below. DO NOT APPLY to lower eyelid.
  • Can I use Latisse if I have Glaucoma? +

If you are using LUMIGAN or other products in the same class for elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), or if you have a history of abnormal IOP, you should not use LATISSE.
  • Can I use Latisse if I have contact lenses? +

Latisse contains a preservative called benzalkonium chloride which may discolor soft contact lenses if the eye is exposed. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Latisse. They may be reinserted 15 minutes after Latisse application.
