In today’s world where so many options exist for everything, one choice you might be faced with is who to choose as your cosmetic injector. Dermal fillers continue to grow in popularity and the art of injecting dermal fillers is evolving quickly. Lip enhancements look fantastic when they are not overdone, but you might be amazed to learn what else filler can achieve in the hands of a skilled injector.
In the olden days (five years ago) filler was used to chase lines and fill in creases such as the nasolabial folds. More recently a more global approach has been used to restore cheek contours and lost volume in other areas of the face. In the past year, the art of dermal filling has evolved to a new level with the introduction of revolutionary techniques known as the MD Codes. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox and Juvederm, is sponsoring educational events worldwide teaching the best injectors in every country new guidelines that were developed by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Mauricio de Maio.
These two-part advanced educational events are by invitation only!
Skinpossible’s doctor and nurse injectors follow this revolutionary step-by-step approach to create the most desirable and natural results possible. Instead of focusing directly on the problem areas we use this strategic MD codes method to target the source of the issues through 75 potential injection points on the face. With precise injection points, low injection volume, and specific injection techniques (some with a needle, some with a micro-cannula, some with a linear or fanning technique) we use the MD Codes to deliver safe and predictable results in eight specific areas. Not everyone needs all eight areas of the 8 point facelift. Which areas you will benefit from will be discussed at the time of your consultation or treatment.

How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal fillers can replace lost volume in the face and restore the contours and shape you had when you were younger. They can also be used to create volume where it has never existed. A skilled injector is able to place the correct consistency and amount of filler to precisely replace or create volume to the areas of the face where it is needed. Results are natural in appearance!
What are dermal fillers made from? There are many different types of dermal fillers and many manufacturers. Skinpossible uses fillers that are derived from plants, no animal products and are made from Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally-occurring substance in our skin. All of our fillers have built-in Lidocaine for maximum comfort!
Injecting Filler is an art! How do we do it?
The skill and experience of the injector will very much dictate the outcome. Skinpossible’s injectors use advanced treatment techniques to ensure that our patients are comfortable. In some areas of the face where a high degree of precision is needed we transfer the filler into smaller needles before we inject it. In areas such as the lips, we will first apply numbing cream to desensitize the skin. In other areas, we will choose to avoid the use of needles and use a micro-cannula to place the filler. The use of a blunt-tipped micro-cannula is a completely revolutionary technique for filler treatments. The microcannula is being called the ‘Ouchless Needle.’ It is small and the tip is rounded. The value of the blunt tip is that it is comfortable and the risk of bruising and damage to the skin is minimal.
What is a SoftLift?

Dermal Fillers FAQ
How long does it take to do a dermal filler treatment? How long will it take to see results from dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Teosyal? +
At Skinpossible we pride ourselves in delivering a relaxed treatment experience. Depending on how many areas of the face are being treated, it could take as little as 15 minutes to perform your service. We always reserve at least 45 minutes or longer to perform your treatment, however, so you will never feel rushed or pressured. Results are instant!
How long do results from dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Teosyal last? +
As with other Hyaluronic Acid fillers, Teosyal and Juvederm will be absorbed naturally by the body over time. Some people will metatolize it faster than others. The duration of the filling effect varies based on the facial areas treated, the thickness of the product used, and other factors such as the structure of the skin, lifestyle and age. We lose Hyaluronic Acid faster if we spend a lot of time in the sun. The result lasts longer in areas less affected by animation. When used to plump up a scar the result will last longer than when used around the mouth, for example, where there is much more movement. Timely touch-up and follow-up treatment will add to the duration. Results from fillers generally last from 6 months and for periods up to 2 years in most people.
Are there any other benefits of Hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections? +
Yes! Hyaluronic acid also appears to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that contribute to the skin’s fullness and elasticity. One study found that Hyaluronic acid works on fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) in a way that causes new collagen to form in the skin. This may halt the age and sun-related breakdown of existing collagen.
Are there any side effects from dermal fillers +
Hyaluronic Acid dermal filler is a safe procedure for all skin types and colours. Some common injection-related reactions such as bruising and swelling might occur. Erythema, swelling, pain, itching, discoloration or tenderness to the injection site resolve themselves and are short-lived.
How much does Teosyal and Juvederm cost? +
Dermal fillers are purchased by the syringe and the price per syringe varies from product to product. . The price of your procedure will vary depending on the area to be treated and the amount of product required to achieve the desired result. In any case, when the total price is calculated on the number of months you will benefit from the procedure, it is a small price to pay for the improved confidence and self-esteem you will enjoy.
What is Softlift? +
A combination of Botox and Hyaluronic Acid filler has been found to produce an effect that lasts longer than either modality used separately. Softlift is a name coined by Allergan, the manufacturer of both Botox and Juvederm. The same benefit and effect can be achieved combining Botox with any brand of dermal fillers.
Which is better dermal fillers or Ultherapy? +
Ultherapy and dermal fillers are completely different. Fillers may help slow down the loss of collagen, but Ultherapy can replace collagen already lost. Ultherapy tightens and lifts skin to stimulate the production of new collagen in the skin. The collagen producing benefits from Ultherapy can actually make the skin stronger and more toned to restore the skin to a more youthful condition. Ultherapy can make the skin stronger and thicker but cannot replace lost volume as fillers can. An Ultherapy treatment may reduce the amount of filler needed, however, so the two in combination complement each other beautifully.
Can dermal fillers get rid of wrinkles? +
Filler can fill deep wrinkles but there are more effective and affordable solutions to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. To stop excessive animation of the face that causes wrinkles to appear, Botox is the treatment of choice. To reduce or erase fine lines CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is the best choice. Other options exist for getting rid of wrinkles as well. If you are considering a filler treatment perhaps you would benefit from a consultation first to be sure you are investing in the solutions that are right for you.
How can I make my hands look younger? Can Dermal Fillers be used in hands? +
The answer is YES IT CAN! As we age we lose volume in our hands. Dermal fillers can be used to restore the volume to make hands appear more youthful. The procedure is quick and painless.
What are other dermal fillers / facial fillers made from? +
There are many different types of dermal fillers and many manufacturers. Skinpossible only uses filler that is made from Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally-occurring substance in our skin (Juvederm™, Restylane™, Teosyal™). The products we use are all derived from plants, not animal products. Other fillers classified as semi-permanent or permanent can be made from Collagen (Zyplast™/Zyderm™) or from synthetic products such as calcium hydroxyapapite (Radiesse™). Fillers can even be made, fully or in part, from acrylics or plastics or even silicone. Skinpossible will not use synthetic fillers and will not do fillers for you if you have had certain products previously injected (Bioaclamide™, Dermalive™, Dermadeep™,Beauticall™,Artecol™, Artesense™). As a matter of interest regarding synthetic permanent fillers, that is what happened to Priscilla Presley.
I don't want to look unnatural. Will fillers make me look unnatural? +
Filler is an art. Poorly placed filler or too much filler can make you look unnatural. The key to looking natural is to only trust your procedure to a skilled injector and to not overdo it. Filler can only do so much. For the best overall result it is best to use a combination of treatments instead of filler alone.
If I don’t like the result can filler be removed? +
Yes. Hyaluronic Acid can be dissolved with small injections of an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
